This is a nice, basic pool. The management of the lanes when sharing required is informal — there are no fast/medium/slow lane esignations. Bring a lock, towel, and maybe soap, though they do have foam soap dispensers.

Very quiet early in the morning. Each swimmer had his/her own lane. At 7,000 feet above sea level, unsuspecting swimmers can be left gasping for breath until they've become acclimatized to the rarified air. Take it easy at first and don't expect your performance to be the same as in your usual pool.

May 2016

I swam here several times in May, 2016. I usually had a lane to myself. They have long lap swim hours. Water temperature was 84º. You can also use the other facilities: weights, cardio machines and fitness classes. It has the usual Spartan municipal locker rooms.

This is primarily an adult lap pool. Sometimes there are only three or four lanes, but lap lanes are always available. There is an occasional aerobics class but nothing major that disrupts the lap times. Kids go to the other pools to play.

When your Places2Swim editors visited Santa Fe on an RV trip in the early 90s, we parked behind the pool and swam there every day before breakfast. This is a very nice pool, clean, well regulated, and close to downtown.
