Fitzroy Swimming Pool

It's a nice pool, but wasn't so clean on the day I went. The water was a bit too warm (28ºC?), too. Nice people at reception. It was fun to see the big sign 'aqua profunda' reflecting Melbourne's Italian heritage. It's not surrounded by greenery, unlike some of the other public, 50 m pools in Melbourne.

Very clean and inexpensive. It has a children's/babies pool and a crèche operates on some mornings of the week. The water is warm (but not too warm for lap swimming) and beautifully clean and clear. A squad operates most days - and is very welcoming and inclusive. Definitely one of the best swims in Melbourne - with Brunswick St. nearby for post swim coffee, breakfast, lunch etc. Fitzroy Pool has recently had a gym added to its facilities as well. Highly recommended!
