Duke Center for Living at Fearrington

This pool, which is accessible to guests over the age of 13, now has three drop-in lanes (the other two must be reserved by members a week in advance). One lane is mandatory sharing and for the other two, sharing is optional. There is a sign-up board next to the pool. The water is warm (around 84ºF), and clear. The locker rooms are quite nice and they are kept very clean. Towels are available.

This pool is affiliated with Galloway Ridge, a continuing care residence. The five lane pool is a uniform 3½ feet deep and is kept at around 84ºF. One lane has stairs coming into it, so it's not good for laps. With Covid restrictions it's necessary to reserve a lane, and they go fast -- you need to start looking seven days before, not dally. The water is usually clean, but over the past few years they've had to close several times because of problems with the water filter. The locker rooms are open now, but the showers closed (Covid restrictions). The locker room is clean, better than basic but not luxurious, and small.
