Complexo de Piscinas do Estadio Universitario de Lisboa (EUL)

This is a fantastic facility. The water temperature was perfect for a hard swim and both the 50m and 25m pools were available. The drop-in swim hour is locally referred to as "Happy Hour".

Current hours are: weekdays from 6:30 AM to 2:15 PM and then from 3:45 to 5:30 PM; and Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Bring your passport and register/pay at the administrative office around the corner from the turnstiles to the pool entry.

I swam here on a Saturday morning. The pool was mostly empty with one person per 50-metre lane.

The lockers require locks with very skinny hasps. I just brought my valuables on deck and no one cared.

You need to fill in a short form before entering. The form asksyou’re your passport number but I did not need to show my actual passport. The front desk person spoke English.

All 50m lanes were separated by lane lines (but usually not all lanes were available for casual swimming). The water was a bit warm (28ºC and even feels a bit warmer). It's old but well maintained and clean.

You should call in advance to inquire about the opening hours (the website is not accurate); and, even for single (or infrequent) admission, you need to register with your passport (which works smoothly). Bring a cap (mandatory) and a lock (which shouldn't be too big to fit in). There's an analog stopwatch at the pool.
