The facility, which is municipally owned and had been municipally operated until 2015, has been leased to the Futebol Clube do Porto for 25 years, beginning in 2015. As part of the arrangement, the club invested several million Euros for renovations a part of which went towards permanently enclosing the pool, which was outdoors but covered with a bubble in the cooler months.
