Clay Madsen Recreation Center

Awesome pool! It was fairly crowded when I was there but I was able to share a lane with my lap swimming buddy. It's nicely maintained; the water is kept at 82º; and there's good traction on the walls, so you don't slip when flip turning. The staff is riendly, too.

A great year-round indoor lap pool. Sometimes two lanes are closed for water aerobic classes. It can get very crowded; avoid the outside lanes, the jets are so strong it feels like you're swimming against the current in one direction, with it in the other. For someone training for triathlons, it is the only winter option in Round Rock.
