Facility Notes

Pool dimensions shown in this listing are based on takeoffs of the satelliite photos of the site using Google Maps' distance measurement tool.

Pool 1 is the Catalina Pool, designed by William Wrigley, Jr., with tiles from Catalina Island.

Pools 2 and 3 are due north of the main entrance to the hotel. They are laid out end to end and are collectively referred to as the Saguaro Pool. These pools are reserved for adult guests. Pool 3 has a staircase entry across one end.

Pool 4 is the Paradise Pool, the largest pool on the property and resort-type, likely to be the one used by families staying at the property.

Pool 5 is the Ocatilla Pool. It is the only one of the seven pools on the property that our reviewer judged "swimmable". If you zoom into the Google Maps satellite view, it is the pool to the east of pools 2 and 3.

Prices for day pass access through the Resort Pass website may vary by day of week or by season. Additionally, the options presented when we checked the current offer showed different prices for the Saguaro Pool(s) and the Paradise Pool. There was no pool-only day pass offered for the Ocatilla Pool, but you could purchase access to it by renting a poolside cabana (a very expensive option). There was no mention of the Catalina Pool, at all. If you go to purchase a day pass here, be sure to read the descripton entirely.

It is not a deep pool – but this is definitely the pool I would recommend for those staying at this hotel. There are no lane markings but, in the middle of the day, there were only a few people around the pool and no one was in it. Of course, it is February in Arizona and people think it is too cold to swim!!
