This is an excellent place to swim. I was surprised that Alice Springs had such an amazing aquatic center, but this complex has multiple pools, including a beautiful, sparkling clean, 50m, outdoor pool. The pool is well maintained and generally isn’t very busy. When I went, there were only a couple of other swimmers in the mornings.
The only problem with this pool is the temperature. Apparently, they were having problems with a broken pool heater and cold water, but now the opposite seems to be the case. The last time I visited, the pool temperature was a toasty 30ºC/86ºF! The other swimmers actually seemed to enjoy it, though I had to get out every several laps just to cool off (especially since there was also no shade structure over the pool).
Overall, it's an excellent pool to swim in, if you don’t mind the higher water temperature.
